- Conferences, panels, talks, and academic spaces will provide knowledge to all attendees of the most important aeronautical and aerospace fair in Colombia.
Bogota, June 9, 2025. The 12th edition of F-AIR, which will take place in Rionegro, Antioquia, will feature an academic agenda that will provide knowledge in aeronautics and aerospace to all attendees. Between July 9 and 13, aviation enthusiasts will be able to understand the details of topics of interest with experts and professionals who will share their knowledge with those attending the José María Córdova airport.
Colombia is advancing in the transition to sustainable aviation fuels known as SAF, and this is one of the most important topics that will be the focus of the initial conversation on July 10 between the Secretary General of the International Civil Aviation Organization – ICAO, the president of Ecopetrol, the director of Civil Aeronautics, the Minister of Mines and Energy, and the Commander of the Colombian Aerospace Force.
Likewise, the Pontifical Bolivarian University will present a paper titled "Between Heaven and the City: Technological Challenges for Advanced Air Mobility," by Professor Germán Barragán de los Ríos; while from 9:00 a.m., the aeronautical industry in the regions will be the topic of the panel led by Aerored in the SAF pavilion.
The Civil Aeronautics of Colombia, in partnership with the Colombian Aerospace Force and with the strategic support of Corferias, announces an ambitious academic agenda for F-AIR 2025, which will take place at José María Córdova International Airport. This event, one of the most important in Latin America in the field of aeronautics and aerospace, aims to position Colombia as a regional benchmark in innovation, sustainability, and international cooperation in the aviation industry.
This year's academic agenda stands out for its comprehensive focus on key topics such as the decarbonization of the air transport sector through sustainable fuels (SAF), advanced air mobility, airport infrastructure, national biofuel production, space technology, and aircraft maintenance (MRO). More than 60 national and international experts, including representatives from IATA, Airbus, Ecopetrol, ICAO, MIT, LATAM, Avianca, and KLM, will participate in high-level panels, conferences, and technical talks.
Among the most anticipated events are the opening panel on the SAF challenge for air decarbonization, moderated by the Director of Civil Aeronautics, and keynote speeches on the SAF roadmap in Colombia, space technologies, urban air mobility, and aviation sustainability. Additionally, the Women Leaders in Aviation panel will take place, along with a series of sessions focused on the development of infrastructure projects, certification of sustainable fuels, and logistical solutions.
On Friday, July 11, the agenda will focus on the aeronautical maintenance industry with two panels on the MRO market in Latin America and specific opportunities in Colombia, as well as presentations from companies and innovation centers such as SAAB, CAESCOL, and the ICAO FINVEST Center. Emerging challenges such as data management in aircraft accidents and the use of artificial intelligence in defense will also be addressed.
F-AIR 2025 reaffirms its commitment to sustainable development and the technological transformation of the aerospace sector. The academic agenda becomes a key space for dialogue, learning, and cooperation between government, industry, academia, and multilateral organizations. Attendees will be able to firsthand learn about global trends and advancements that will shape the future of aviation.
